    The Glucocorticoid Receptor (GR) is a nuclear receptor protein that functions as a transcription factor. It is activated by binding to glucocorticoid hormones, such as cortisol. Upon activation, the GR translocates to the nucleus, where it regulates the expression of target genes involved in various physiological processes, including metabolism, immune response, inflammation, and stress adaptation. Dysregulation of the Glucocorticoid Receptor signaling pathway is associated with numerous diseases, including metabolic disorders, immune disorders, and psychiatric conditions.
