  • Overview

    Description

    Streptavidin is a 53 kDa homotetramer isolated from Streptomyces avidinii. Because of its strong non-covalent interaction with biotin, streptavidin can be used to detect and isolate biotinylated proteins. Conjugation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) to streptavidin is obtained by cross linking the amino groups on streptavidin with the carbohydrate groups on HRP. Streptavidin-HRP is typically used biotinylated antibodies or proteins.

    Recommended dilution factor:
    ELISA: 1:5000-20000
    WB: 1:1000-10000
    IHC: 1:200-500
    Note: Working dilution for specific application should be determined by the investigator to obtain the best conditions.
    Horseradish peroxidase is conjugated to the streptavidin tetramer at about 1:1 molar ratio.
    Optimal titers for the applications should be determined by the researcher.

      The product is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at -20°C or lower for long term storage.

      Stability & Storage

      This product is stable after storage at:

      • 2-8°C for 6 months under sterile conditions from date of receipt.
      • -20°C or -80°C for 12 months under sterile conditions from date of receipt.

      Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
      Suggestion: Divide antibody into several vials. Keep only vials for usage at 2-8°C.
